Issue 01: UNDERGROUND
This issue explores two contrasting ideas of "underground" as an expression of an alternative lifestyle and a transit system.

Arising from the underground tunnels of Sydney's Central Station, this issue investigates the art of Sticker Slapping, an everpresent artefact that exists in both ideas of the underground.

METONYM [noun]
a word, name or expression used as a substitute for something else with which it is closely associated. (e.g. "lend a hand" = help)
Although every word has a predetermined definition, the amount of meanings and associations attached to it is endless.
With design professionals & enthusiasts as targeted readers, METONYM is an experimental typographic magazine that aims to:
-
visually investigate the artefacts & typographic mediums that corresponds to the word / phrase
-
let go of the rigid & fixed single sentence definitions
-
dissect the ambivalent web of associated ideas, narratives & notions
-
discover how a word can be influenced by the individual's worldview & the collective's structural myths
